Helen is Head of Research at Spoonful of Sugar, responsible for ensuring that SoS programmes are informed by the latest research and thinking in behavioural medicine. She holds a BSc in Psychology and a masters in Clinical Psychology both from Bangor University.

 

Helen has extensive experience in patient-centred research policy from working with the UK National Institute of Health Research (NIHR). Within this role she was instrumental in designing innovative research that was based on the latest psychological thinking.

 

Prior to SoS Helen had worked in Mental Health for many years, both within practice and research. She has developed patient care programmes and healthcare support services across a range of settings including the charitable sector and schools. The programmes she designed were heavily based on self management support and guidance for medication adherence.
